Cut by time
Type the start and end of the part you want to keep, as seconds (75), minutes and seconds (1:15, 1:15.5) or hours, minutes and seconds (1:02:30). Leave the end empty to keep everything to the end of the video, or set only the end to cut the tail off. Then press Trim.
The clip starts exactly at the chosen moment. Where possible the video is copied without re-encoding, so the result keeps the original quality and the trim is fast; only the few frames between the cut and the next key frame are re-encoded.
The clip keeps the original's format family: MP4, MOV and phone videos come out as MP4, WebM as WebM and MKV as MKV, with the same video and audio. To also make it smaller, run it through the Video compressor; to remove the sound, use Mute video.
Private, no limits
Trimming happens in your browser. The video never leaves your device, and there is no watermark or size limit.
How this works
In a Web Worker, Mediabunny reads the video in slices and copies the audio and video between the two times into a new file of the same container family. Video is stored as groups of frames that start with a key frame; to start exactly at your time, the frames up to the next key frame are decoded and re-encoded with your browser's encoder, and the rest is copied as is. The result is written to the browser's private storage as it is produced.
Frequently asked
How do I write the times?
Seconds (90), minutes:seconds (1:30 or 1:30.5) or hours:minutes:seconds (1:02:30). Leave End empty to keep the rest of the video.
Does trimming reduce quality?
Almost nothing changes: most of the clip is copied as is; only a few frames at the cut are re-encoded.
Is my video uploaded?
No. It is trimmed by your browser on this device.
Can I cut several parts at once?
One clip per run. Trim again from the original for another part.
