A silent copy in seconds
Sometimes a video is perfect except for its sound: wind and traffic noise, a song that will get a post blocked for copyright, people talking in the background, or audio you'll replace in an editor. Choose the video and press Remove audio; you get a copy without any sound track.
The picture is not re-encoded. It is copied packet for packet into the new file, so quality and resolution don't change and even long videos take only seconds. The file keeps its format family: MP4 and iPhone MOV videos come out as MP4, WebM as WebM, MKV as MKV.
You can mute up to five videos in one go. To keep only part of a video, trim it as well; to keep the sound but not the picture, use MP4 to MP3.
Nothing leaves your device
The sound is removed by your browser, so the video is never uploaded, and there's no size limit or watermark.
How this works
In a Web Worker, Mediabunny reads the video in slices, discards every audio track and copies the video track unchanged into a new file of the same container family. Nothing is decoded or re-encoded. The result is written to the browser's private storage as it is produced, then offered for download.
Frequently asked
Does the video lose quality?
No. The picture is copied as it is; only the sound is removed.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The sound is removed by your browser on this device.
Can I keep the sound as a separate file?
Yes: convert the same video with MP4 to MP3 to get the audio on its own.
How long does it take?
Seconds, even for long videos, because nothing is re-encoded.
