OpenDocument to PDF

OpenDocument is the open standard format of LibreOffice and OpenOffice, and one of Google Docs' download options. Choose an ODT document, ODS spreadsheet or ODP presentation and get a PDF converted by LibreOffice itself, the reference implementation of the format, so the layout comes out exactly as it was designed.

When to use it

Send the PDF when the person you're sharing with doesn't use LibreOffice, when a form or portal only accepts PDF, or when the document must print the same everywhere. Keep the ODT as your editable original.

How this works

LibreOffice, the reference implementation of the OpenDocument standard (ISO/IEC 26300), opens the file natively and exports it to PDF. Documents export page by page, spreadsheets with their print settings, presentations one slide per page.

Do I need an account?

No. Files up to 10 MB convert without one. A free account takes files up to 25 MB and keeps the PDF for 24 hours.

Is my file private?

It goes to private cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), is converted by an isolated worker and deleted: the upload as soon as the PDF is ready, the PDF after 1 hour (24 hours with a free account). Nobody looks at it.

Will the PDF look like my document?

Pages, tables, images and fonts are kept. If the document uses a font that isn't embedded, a metric-compatible replacement keeps the line breaks; rare fonts may look slightly different.

How long does it take?

A few seconds for typical documents, including the upload.
