DOCX to PDF in seconds
Choose a Word file (DOCX or the older DOC), or an OpenDocument or RTF file, and it converts on our servers with LibreOffice in a few seconds. You get a PDF with the same pages, headings, tables, images and fonts, ready to send, print or attach to a form.
Why PDF
A PDF looks identical on every phone and computer and can't be edited by accident, which is why job applications, contracts, invoices and school assignments ask for one. Converting keeps your original Word file untouched.
Private and temporary
Your document is uploaded to private cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), converted by an isolated worker without internet access, and deleted: the upload as soon as the PDF is ready, the PDF after an hour (24 hours with a free account). Files up to 10 MB need no account; a free account takes up to 25 MB.
Need the opposite? PDF to Word is coming soon; to combine documents, convert each one and use Merge PDF.
How this works
The file is converted by LibreOffice, the open-source office suite, in a sandboxed worker: it opens the document with its Word import filter and exports every page to PDF. Fonts the document uses but doesn't include are replaced by fonts with identical character widths (for example Carlito for Calibri), so lines and pages break in the same places.
Frequently asked
Do I need an account?
No. Files up to 10 MB convert without one. A free account takes files up to 25 MB and keeps the PDF for 24 hours.
Is my file private?
It goes to private cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), is converted by an isolated worker and deleted: the upload as soon as the PDF is ready, the PDF after 1 hour (24 hours with a free account). Nobody looks at it.
Will the PDF look like my Word document?
Pages, tables, images and fonts are kept. If the document uses a font that isn't embedded, a metric-compatible replacement keeps the line breaks; rare fonts may look slightly different.
How long does it take?
A few seconds for typical documents, including the upload.
