Change background colour

Any colour, one click

Pick a colour, choose your photos and press Change background. The AI separates the subject from its background and places it on a solid fill of your colour, at the photo's full resolution. Matching a brand colour, a team colour or the background of your slides takes seconds.

Popular uses: consistent profile pictures for a team page, product photos on a brand colour, YouTube thumbnails, school and work ID photos on light blue or grey. For marketplace listings, White background is the usual choice; for a transparent PNG, use Remove background.

Fine details such as loose hair blend gently into the new colour. Colours close to the subject's own (a red product on red) make edges harder to see, so a contrasting colour gives the cleanest look.

Private

The AI model runs in your browser and is downloaded once (about 88 MB). Your photos are never uploaded, there's no watermark, and you can change up to five photos at a time.

An open-source segmentation model (ormbg, Apache-2.0) runs at 1024 × 1024 pixels on your graphics card (WebGPU) or processor and returns how likely each pixel is to be the subject. The canvas is filled with your colour and the subject, cut out with that map at full resolution, is drawn on top; the result is saved as JPG at quality 92.
