Crisp pages for slides and docs
PNG stores every pixel exactly, so pages full of text, tables, charts or technical drawings come out with clean edges and no compression smudges. That makes it the right choice for pasting a page into slides, documentation or a design file. Photos and scans are usually better as JPG, which gives much smaller files.
- Resolution: 72 dpi for thumbnails, 150 dpi for screens (an A4 page becomes about 1240 × 1750 pixels), 300 dpi when you'll zoom or print.
- Pages: leave empty for every page, or list them, such as
2, 4-6.
Each page becomes one PNG on a white background. Several pages come as separate files and as one ZIP.
Nothing leaves your device
Your browser opens and draws the PDF. No upload, account or daily limit.
How this works
The pages are drawn by PDF.js, the PDF engine built into Firefox, running in a Web Worker on your device. Each page is rendered onto a white canvas at the chosen resolution (dots per inch ÷ 72 = scale) and saved as a lossless PNG. Fonts the PDF doesn't include are loaded from the standard PDF font set, so text looks the way the author intended.
Frequently asked
Why are PNG files bigger than JPG?
PNG is lossless: it keeps every pixel exactly. That is what keeps text sharp, but photos take much more space than as JPG.
Is the background transparent?
No. Pages are drawn on white, the way they look on paper and in PDF viewers.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are drawn by your browser on this device.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. List them in the Pages box, for example 1-2, 5.
