Sharper, same size
A photo can be the right size and still look soft: a slight shake, a focus miss, a phone lens that smudged detail, or a picture that was enlarged once already. Unblur runs an AI restoration model that rebuilds edges and fine detail, then returns the photo at its original size, so it drops straight back where it was used.
Results are best on mild softness and on compression smudge. A photo that is badly out of focus or full of motion streaks won't become sharp, because the detail was never captured, but edges and text usually become noticeably cleaner.
Want the photo larger as well? Use the Photo enhancer (2×) or the Image upscaler (2× or 4×).
Private
The AI model (5 MB) runs in your browser and is downloaded once. Your photos are never uploaded and there's no watermark. Up to five photos at a time.
How this works
The photo is restored by Real-ESRGAN (BSD-3-Clause) in overlapping tiles on your graphics card (WebGPU) or processor: the network outputs four times the pixels with sharpened edges and less noise. That result is then reduced back to the original size with high-quality resampling, which keeps the restored edges crisp, and saved as JPG at quality 95 (PNG if the photo has transparency).
Frequently asked
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The AI runs in your browser on this device.
Can it fix any blur?
Mild softness and compression, yes. Strong motion blur or a badly missed focus can't be fully undone.
Does the size change?
No. The result has the same width and height as your photo.
Does it work on text?
Often: blurry screenshots and photographed documents usually come out more readable.
