Pictures in, animation out
Add two or more pictures, use the arrows to put them in order, choose how long each one shows and how wide the GIF should be, then press Make GIF. The animation loops forever, as GIFs on chats and social networks do.
- Frame duration: 0.1 s gives a fast flip-book; 0.5 s suits step-by-step how-tos and before/after comparisons; 1–2 s works for slideshows.
- Width: 480 px is a good size for chats and posts. Wider GIFs look sharper but get heavy quickly, since every frame is a full picture.
The first picture sets the shape of the GIF; pictures with a different shape are fitted inside it with white bars. GIF is limited to 256 colours per frame, which is fine for drawings and screenshots and gives photos a slightly grainy look.
There is no watermark and no limit on how often you use it. To turn a video clip into a GIF, use Video to GIF.
Private
The GIF is made by your browser. Your pictures are never uploaded.
How this works
Each picture is decoded by your browser in a Web Worker, drawn centred at the GIF's size on a white canvas, and reduced to the 256 colours that represent it best. The open-source gifenc encoder writes each frame with its own colour palette and the chosen delay, plus a loop instruction so players repeat it forever.
Frequently asked
How many pictures can I use?
From 2 up to 100. More frames mean a bigger file, so keep the width small for long animations.
Is there a watermark?
No. The GIF contains only your pictures.
Are my pictures uploaded?
No. The GIF is created in your browser on this device.
Why do my photos look grainy?
GIF stores at most 256 colours per frame. Drawings and screenshots look clean; photos show some dithering.
