Why convert SVG to PNG
SVG logos and icons are perfect for websites, but slides, documents, social networks and many apps need a regular picture. PNG keeps the transparent background, and you choose the size, so the result is sharp.
SVG is SVG, a vector format: shapes described as text, sharp at any size; PNG is PNG, the lossless format of screenshots, logos and graphics with transparency.
What changes
- The vector drawing becomes a grid of pixels at the size you pick (the long side, in pixels); pick a larger size for print.
- Transparency is kept.
- Photo metadata such as camera details and GPS location is not copied to the new file.
Nothing is uploaded
Your pictures are converted by your own browser and saved straight back to your device. There is no sign-up, watermark or daily limit, and you can convert up to five files at once.
How this works
Web Workers can't draw SVG, so this page draws your SVG with the browser's own SVG engine (the same one that shows it on websites), at the size you chose, through an image element, where scripts and external files are blocked. The pixels are then encoded as lossless PNG by the browser's own encoder (canvas convertToBlob) in a Web Worker. Nothing is uploaded.

Which size should I pick?
1024 pixels on the long side suits slides and documents; 2048 or 4096 for print or large screens. 'Original' uses the size written in the SVG.
