Frequency counts how often something repeats per second. Electronics, radio and audio use hertz with SI prefixes: mains power runs at 50 or 60 Hz, FM radio at around 100 MHz and Wi-Fi at 2.4 or 5 GHz. Rotating machinery uses revolutions per minute instead, and since a minute has 60 seconds, 1 Hz is exactly 60 rpm.
